The Pillay Family Story
Dylan's Motor Repairs was founded in 1999 by Dylan Pillay — a qualified mechanic who set up his own workshop in Tongaat to serve the local community directly. What started as a one-man operation has grown into a true family business: today, Dylan works alongside his son Andre, passing on nearly three decades of hands-on mechanical knowledge to the next generation.
This isn't a franchise or a chain — it's a father and son who know their trade, know their community, and take personal responsibility for every vehicle that comes through the door. When you bring your car to Dylan's, you're dealing with the people who actually do the work.
Over 27 years, the workshop has built its reputation the old-fashioned way: through consistent, honest work, fair pricing, and the kind of trust that comes from being a recognisable face in the neighbourhood. Many of our customers have been coming back for years — and now bring their children's cars too.
